Neighborhood Voices co-directors, Anthony Newman and Maria Gabriela Aldana, lead participants of all experiences in writing workshops that help us share real stories of resisting, challenging and confronting racism. Participants build empathy and strength for one another as they dig deep into often painful and untold stories. The young and briliant members of Neighborhood Voices perform stories and share their creative process.
Participants may be asked to come back as a guest artist and perform their 5-7 min stories during our annual culminating event, OUTSPOKEN, at Creative Alliance on Sunday, Nov 19 from 3-5pm. Rehearsals are mandatory.
Must register by emailing info@creativealliance.org please! Service learning hours honored for high school students. Workshop suggested for ages 14 and older.
