5th annual OUTSPOKEN is proud to present new storytellers and works by Ana Temple Rodney, Anthony Jay, Shahem Mclaurin, Rashawn Smith, Xavier Lee, Zoey Howell, Rajani Gudlavalleti, Ti Coleman, Jermaine Peterson, Krismir Thomas, Gustavo Minaya, and Camila Daniel, who cross over neighborhoods, generational, class and racial barriers to perform and share their personal experiences of challenging and surviving racism as it relates to this year's theme, "About Family." Event is suggested for ages 14 and older.

The Neighborhood Voices Committee is holding an audition for performers on November 7th and 14th from 6:30-9PM at the Creative Alliance. Do you have a story about family to share with us? What did you learn about your history, as it relates to race from your family? Please email your story to neighborhoodvoices.committee@gmail.com by November 12th. Make sure to include your name, performance genre, contact information. We welcome spoken performances, as well as the genres of dance, song, video and paint. Stories must be original, honest, personal, and about race. Performances should not exceed five minutes, although accommodations may be made. Performers must attend and be well-prepared for audition - no reading from phones, please. Performers must also attend rehearsals Tuesday, November 14th 6:30-9PM and Sunday, November 19th 11AM-2PM at the Creative Alliance. Selected artists will receive $50 for participating and must complete a W-9 form.

SUN NOV 19 | 3-5PM followed by communal dinner | DONATIONS ACCEPTED! Register in advance.
